How to réserver online

Once you have chosen your gîte, click on 'Réserver', then simply follow the instructions. Our online service is completely secure. Depending on the importance of the day, you will be asked to pay the deposit or the balance.

What if I don't want to book online?

You can also contact our reservations department, which will send you your rental contract immediately. You can contact us on 02.43.67.09.07 or reservation@gites-de-france-mayenne.com . The central reservation office is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm and on Saturdays (from January to September) from 9am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5pm.

Are all accommodations bookable online?

Only accommodation managed by Service Réservation can be booked online. The others are managed directly by their owners, so all you have to do is contact them to find out about availability and make a reservation. The same applies to other types of accommodation, such as city breaks, bed and breakfasts, gîtes, children's gîtes and campsites.

Do I have to pay by credit card when booking online?

We advise you to do so to guarantee your reservation. You can, however, pay by bank transfer, holiday vouchers, FNGF gift vouchers and bank or postal order.

We recommend that you do this to guarantee your payment.

Until when can I reserve?

From the website, up to 4 days before your arrival.

Can I benefit from discounts?

Thanks to our partnerships, you can benefit from discounts: through certain works councils (find out more) and make your reservation on the website https://ce.gites-de-france.com
We can also send you, on request, invoices or certificates of en-tête Gîtes de France séjour so that you can be reimbursed, if entitled, by your Caisse d'Allocations Familiales, comité d'Entreprise, etc.

Can I reimburse by chèques vacances?

For all properties managed by Service Réservation (all properties bookable online), you can book all or part of your rental through chèques vacances.

When should I make my payment?

Your rental is validated as soon as the Réservation department has received payment of the deposit (25% of the total amount), or the balance for stays of less than a month.Can I benefit from cancellation insurance?

We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance for any contract you sign, as it covers you perfectly for a wide range of situations. It costs 3% of the cost of your rental, with a minimum of 12 euros.

Will I have to pay additional charges?

For contracts booked via the booking service, 15 € booking fees will be charged. Cancellation insurance, which is optional, is strongly recommended.

- Heating
Heating is not necessarily included in the rental price, if it is included, this is specified in the description of the gite. If it is not included, the difference between the initial and final meter readings will be invoiced to you by the landlord, or it may be provided as a flat rate by the landlord.

- &Electricity/heating
8 kwh/day are included in the rental price, any excess consumption will be passed on to the landlord along with your share (current EDF rate). A meter reading will be taken in your presence on the day of your arrival and departure.

- Wood
You may be asked to pay an additional fee if you use wood for a wood stove or pathway. The owner of the building will inform you of the amount.

- Taxe de s&eute;jour
This has been introduced by certain communes in the department. It is collected by the owner on behalf of the municipality. The amount may vary depending on the choices made by the municipality, and will be communicated to you by the owner.

Guarantee

Varying according to the quality of the property you are offered (70 euros; 1600 euros), usually around 300 euros, you will be asked to pay a deposit online or by the owner when you arrive. It will not be cashed and will be returned to you after an inventory of fixtures and fittings, and if it is impossible to carry out an inventory of fixtures and fittings in your presence, returned to you within a maximum of 7 days.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, you just need to choose a hotel that accepts pets: free of charge or with a supplement. Some proprietors accept them with an additional deposit per animal / or an additional flat rate for swimming.

What are the arrival and departure times?

From Saturday 4pm to Saturday before 10am for weekdays. From Friday 6pm to Sunday 6pm for weekends.

For other days, arrivals are from 4pm and departures before 10am. These times can be changed on request, to be agreed with the owner of the gite you have booked.

Who will give me the keys to the gite?

The landlord's contact details will be sent to you by the Réservation Department once you have paid the full rental amount. You should contact the landlord a few days before the start of your stay to discuss the details of your arrival. He or she, or someone appointed by him or her, will be waiting for you at the reception and will hand over the keys.

What should I bring to a gîte?

If they are not provided by the owner (free of charge or for an additional fee), you must bring your own household linen: sheets, pillowcases, towels, napkins, tea towels. Blankets, duvets and pillows are provided systematically.

Will I have to do the swim before leaving the gîte?

You must return the gite in the same condition as when you arrived: tidy and clean. If you do not wish to do the swimming at the end of your stay, the owners can offer you an end-of-day swimming package service.

What should I do if I wish to cancel my booking?

Any cancellation must be notified by post to the owner or to the Réservation Department depending on whether the booking is made by our services. For further information, please refer to the general conditions of rental on the back of the rental contract.

Dispute, claim

Even though we take great care to ensure the quality of our accommodation, there may be exceptional circumstances that disrupt your stay. We will be able to receive your complaint if we are informed, within a maximum of 48 hours of your arrival.

 

Hotel rooms

What is a chambre d'hôtes

It's the 'Bed & Breakfast' à la française. You are welcomed 'as friends' into the homes of private individuals who open their homes to you for one or more nights. Some offer 'suites', which consist of a bedroom, bathroom facilities and a private lounge adjoining the bedroom. There are also 'family rooms': 2 communicating rooms with the same bathroom facilities. And there's the 'family suite': 2 bedrooms with a private lounge, all with shared sanitary facilities.

What is a charming guest room?

Located in a quality environment, in mansions of character with flower gardens or parks, these rooms classified 3 or 4 épis await you in their comfortable and typical world.

What is a château guest room?

These guest rooms meet the same comfort and quality criteria as charming guest rooms. In addition, they must be located in a building with a marked architectural and historical character: castle, manor house, stately home, abbey, convent, fortified farmhouse, etc.

Can I book online?

Our guest rooms can be booked online for those that display their availability details on the web. For the others, you will need to contact the owners to make your reservation.

How can I eat in a guest room?

Some chambres d'hôtes owners offer a 'table d'hôtes' option (which must be booked the day before at the latest). Here you can learn about regional cuisine and conviviality.

What is the price of the petit déjeuner?

Breakfast is systematically included in the price of the night.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival is from 6pm and departure before 11am, however these times can be reviewed with the owner.

What is the rental period for a guest room?

The duration is one night or more depending on the accommodation.

How will I be able to book my rental?

Through the reservation service, with all the possible methods of payment. Alternatively, depending on the owner, you can pay in cash, bank cheque, holiday cheque or Gîtes de France gift cheque.

Will I have to pay any additional charges?

Rates include breakfasts, heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and cleaning. For accommodation at Service Réservation, an administration fee of 5€ will be added.

Will I need to bring my own towels?

No, linen and towels will be provided for you.

Can I bring my pet?

Many owners accept pets, and this is mentioned in our brochures and on our website.

When should I make my payment?

You will need to pay a deposit to confirm your booking and the balance before your arrival for bookings with Service Réservation, and your arrival for bookings direct with the owner.

Can I require a tenancy agreement?

Yes, the landlord is obliged to draw up a tenancy agreement; if he fails to do so, you have the right to demand one. This tenancy agreement is legally the document that protects all parties in the event of a dispute.

Can I take out cancellation insurance?

Yes, by subscribing to our services. However, when booking directly with hotel owners, they very rarely offer insurance.

What should I do if I want to cancel my booking?

Any cancellation must be notified in writing to the owner or to the Réservation Department depending on whether the booking is made by our services. If the cancellation is made more than 24 hours before the start of the holiday, the deposit will be retained by the owner. If the cancellation is made less than 24 hours before the start of the holiday, the deposit remains the property of the owner, who reserves the right to claim the balance of the holiday price. What should I do in the event of a dispute?

Any complaint regarding the state of the property must be made within 2 days of the date of the report to the local office of Les Gîtes de France. Any other complaint must be sent by post, as soon as possible, to the Gîtes de France regional office, which is responsible for making a proposal for an amicable settlement. In the event of persistent disagreement, disputes may be submitted to the Qualité department of the Fédération Nationale des Gîtes de France, which will endeavour to reach an amicable agreement. These provisions are without prejudice to any legal action brought by the customer or the owner.
