Are you forced to cancel your holiday?
Cancelling a trip a few days before departure can be very expensive. You’ll be paying for a holiday you won’t be able to enjoy; in fact, if you cancel at the last minute, you’ll lose the full cost of your holiday.

Because emergencies arise when you least expect them, assistance and insurance policies are in place to help you deal with such situations. Going on holiday requires a few basic precautions before you set off.

Not taking out travel insurance is a false economy!
« ‘But I already have a credit card…’ Only ‘premium’ cards include insurance cover (cancellation, luggage, etc.). These cards, whose cover varies from one bank to another, generally offer less comprehensive cover than standard travel insurance policies, and only cover the tax household. Taking out an insurance policy will allow you to effectively supplement the cover included with your card.

Meetchvous will reimburse 100 per cent of the non-refundable cost of your holiday (up to a limit of 5,000€ per person and €20,000 per incident), excluding service charges and insurance fees. 

 

Two bespoke packages to cover your stay

► Meetch Comprehensive Insurance with proof of booking (5.5% of the cost of the stay)

This comprehensive cover policy covers the following circumstances:

  • Serious illness (including COVID-19), accident, death
  • Serious damage to your main or second home
  • Accident or breakdown of your means of transport
  • Change to holiday dates by your employer
  • Cancellation of a business trip
  • Redundancy
  • Suspension of construction work
  • Securing a job or a paid work placement
  • Summoned by an organisation or public authority
  • Transport strike
  • Job transfer
  • Attack, riot, act of terrorism, pollution, epidemics
  • Any other unforeseen event preventing departure or the performance of planned activities

► Meetch Premium Multi-Risk Insurance no proof of income required (9.5% of the cost of the holiday)

With this insurance, you are also covered for:

  • Loss and theft of personal belongings, vehicle assistance
  • Assistance services (repatriation, care of minor children)
  • Holiday curtailment cover, which provides a refund for days not spent at the holiday accommodation (proof of cancellation required in the event of curtailment only).

With both packages, you may cancel up to the day before your departure, with no excess payable. Please note: these insurance policies mayonly taken out for holiday home bookings made via the booking service (these insurance policies must be taken out at the time of booking).

What to do in the event of cancellation?

  • Notify Gîtes de France® Mayenne: The policyholder must inform Gîtes de France® Mayenne of their cancellation as soon as the event preventingthem from travelling to reservation@gites-de-france-mayenne.com or on 02 43 67 09 07. If contact is made by telephone, the Insured must confirm their cancellation in writing to reservation@gites-de-france-mayenne.com. Gîtes de France® will acknowledge receipt and provide the insured with a cancellation statement. This cancellation statement is also sent to the insurer.
  • Log in to: https://gites-mayenne.remboursement.meetch.fr/fr/signin (log in using the email address you provided when making the booking) to submit your refund claim. Then complete the form as soon as possible (within 5 days) 

Claim for compensation

  • To submit your refund request immediately, log in at: https://gites-mayenne.remboursement.meetch.fr/fr/signin (log in using the email address you provided when making your booking).
  • If you do not have internet access, please contact us by post – MEETCH – 141 avenue de Wagram – 75017 PARIS. The processing time is longer.

Complaints handling and mediation

In the event of a disagreement or dissatisfaction regarding the performance of your contract, please bring this to MEETCH’s attention by writing to reclamation@meetch.fr or by writing to MEETCH- Claims Department - 141 avenue de Wagram - 75017 PARIS for the insurance cover listed below:

✔ Costs of curtailing your stay

Meetch undertakes to acknowledge receipt of your letter within 10 working days. It will be processed within two months at the latest.
